10 Baddest Car Subwoofers

By Roy Clark

Consider it - the last time you read a page on the Baddest Car Subs was never! This post cracks it down and slaps it in your face.

Power Acoustik MOFO Series If you have never heard of MOFO series you have to be a BIG MOFO! Vast, hefty, well-built, potent subwoofers that can flex your windows whenever you feed them brain-shaking watts. Their royal blue surface may give them the appeal of looking lovely - they'll drive air harder than a hurricane.

Their 15" model manages 1700 watts RMS - grip firmly due to the fact all you'll need is just one of these bad boys to out-do your friend's systems using multiple subs.

DB Drive K9 Series The red outline round the cone ought to have a line through it - Risk, bass volumes could shoot high enough to trigger your heart to skip a beat. The K9 10D4, their 10" model, manages a stunning 1000 watts RMS. A dual subwoofer box, several K9 10D4's and you're simply feeling some of the loudest bass you have ever noticed.

The light switches red, and other drivers close to you are now discovering that DB should stand for DAMN BASS!

Boss Audio OutKast Series If this is the first occasion you are discovering Boss Audio, perhaps it's time you called yourself a rookie to car audio. Boss Audio has been hammering the roads with bass since way back when.

They've not long ago gained a position setting up systems on the well known TV series Over Haulin'. But let's get to the subwoofer! The L12 is a 12" model that looks more beastly than bigfoot. Their look is much like a bike gang - failing to take garbage from anyone! Feed one of these subs with 1000 watts RMS power and you should be looking all over to view how many folks are actually looking at you.

Pyle Audio Dryver Series These 12" Dryver Series subs are so serious about generating bass. They had to exchange the "i" with a "y" in Dryver because "y" have you not examined these subwoofers before this? And that is enough said - watch out for their newer Lanzar Optidrive 12" high power subwoofer, for sale shortly. The majority of us agree that 3000 watts RMS power handling is a leap beyond extreme. But it's wonderful to see Pyle Audio stepping it up in a major way.

Planet Audio BIG BANG Series BIG BANG - what was that? A vehicle speeding by utilizing BIG BANG subwoofers that should be inside your vehicle! With 1500 watts RMS power handling being their best for this series, no wonder why they've every right to name them BIG BANG. Forget throwing two of these in your trunk - just one is needed to make a new BIG BANG theory.

Kicker SOLOX Series Different from the other subwoofers above, and below, the SOLOX 18" subwoofer is square designed giving it more cone space than comparable 18" circular subwoofers. There aren't lots of 18"ers. Kicker has put this subwoofer on a level of it's own. Have a ball spending income for an amplifier, or amps, to power a subwoofer that is ideal for taking 5000 watts RMS.

MTX Thunder 9500 Series Their 12" and 15" models can equally handle 1000 watts RMS which will generate an intensive level of excursion (shake your hand in front of your face a few inches apart extremely fast and this will give you an idea). MTX's Asymmetrical Linear Drive System let these subs to deliver high output with lower distortion. The magnet weight is beyond 16 pounds - it's hefty.

Pioneer Champion Series PRO You possibly will not see lots of Pioneer subs in your buddy's vehicles - they probably did not search hard enough to find a subwoofer that's "PRO SHOW" - this isn't entry level. 1000 watts RMS handling power as well as their Wide-Roll 3-Layer Fiber Radial Surround delivers clear and tight bass - the lows are gettin' low too. Their recommended enclosures are .5 to 1.0 cubic feet, which means you don't require a lot of trunk space.

Orion HCCA Series If you want a sub to bang your brain in, the HCCA sub has been confronted head-to-head with some of the subwoofers on this page, and knocked them out. A huge excursion roughly 4" - more excursion, much more bass. It does not get greater than that!

MTX JackHammer And next there's King Kong - as big as 24". There's way too much to write regarding this sub - view it for yourself. A 900oz magnet, it stands 2 feet tall and eats 4000 watts RMS. The biggest, baddest sub on our planet!
